In the early decennary, basketball players compete in cages of meshing and mesh to stay players from falling into spectator seats. Players would often get injured during the intense games.[11] Originally, 2 groups of nine players created up a hoops, a number that was based on the standard number of players on a baseball team. Later, the teams were reduced to 5 players on the court.[10]
